Those of you who fancy simulation role-playing video games have certainly heard of the absolute masterpiece named Stardew Valley. The game allows you to become the best farmer, fisherman, and warrior in Pelican Town. Fans of this gaming product are always super thrilled to find out all details about every new update of the game. Recently, the creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone tweeted that a 1.6 update is just around the corner.

Although, according to his words, it will not be as grandiose as the 1.5 update, it is still something that’s worth waiting for. In the next lines, we will focus on the potential changes that will take place in Stardew Valley, and we will go through some of the major modifications that came with the previous update of the game.

What Changes Occurred in Stardew Valley with the 1.5 Update?

One of the grandest and most anticipated updates of the game was realized in February 2021. Barone constantly tries to make Stardew Valley better and more exhilarating, which surely contributes to the complete satisfaction of gamers. The 2021 update has resulted in massive positive feedback. After all, a whole new world was added to the main game.

The Ginger Island gave players a reason to play a few additional hours per day in order to reveal every mystery associated with the new location. Additionally, a new beach farm, new puzzles, and a split-screen local multiplayer were a few of the new features added to the game. Here is a list containing details about the rest of the modifications:

  • New Events
  • New Dialogues
  • Newly Added Mini-Games
  • A New NPC (Leo)
  • A Volcano Dungeon
  • New Enemies
  • New Animals
  • New Crops and Trees
  • Bug Fixes

Some players thought that this might have been the final update of the game. If you’re reading this, however, you already know that’s not quite the case. Eric Barone has published a tweet where he shared that a 1.6 update will follow, and even maybe a 1.7 update. Although the latter is simply speculation, his announcement surely gave fans of the game a reason to check the news regarding Stardew Valley on a regular basis.

The Latest Patch: Stardew Valley 1.6

Now we have come to the most interesting part of our post. Sadly, however, we are not able to lift up your spirits by saying that tremendous changes will follow. In fact, Barone revealed that the 1.6 update will mostly consist of modding-focused changes. He even advised players not to get too excited about the new patch since there won’t be many modifications. The good news is that the developer has hinted that a 1.7 patch may be realized in the future.

Even though many players were a bit disappointed by the fact that the new patch won’t be as major as the previous one, others believe that’s quite understandable. After all, the 1.5 update features new locations players may visit. Plus, the quests on Ginger Island are all super fun to complete, and, in the end, farmers will even be able to grow crops at the beach! Not only this, but farmers will be able to buy new trees and fruits, including banana, pineapple, and mango.

It has not yet been announced when the new patch will take place. Nonetheless, fans of Stardew Valley are positive that it will happen before the end of 2022. In his tweet, Barone also mentioned that the beloved Stardew Valley will somehow be connected with his new game that’s still in progress. The Haunted Chocolatier looks quite similar to Stardew Valley in terms of graphics and illustrations. However, Eric assured his fans that it will be nothing like his most prominent creation.

Haunted Chocolatier: Release Date, Idea, and Style

If you’ve visited the Haunted Chocolatier website created by the developer of the game, you already know what its design will be. As can be seen from the very few videos and pictures posted there, it is very similar to that of Stardew Valley. However, as stated on the game’s web page, the idea of the game is very different from that of Stardew Valley.

Eric Barone says that the main focus will not be on growing crops, of course. The player’s main mission will be to produce and sell chocolate at his own factory. Even though the game will be filled with mysterious elements, including ghosts, bizarre creatures, and other surprises, it will not be a negative gaming product. In fact, according to the creator, his aim is to, once again, produce a game that will bring positive emotions to the player.

One of the main things that will differentiate the two games is the fact that in Haunted Chocolatier, the combat has been paid much greater attention. Players will be armed with both swords (or other weapons of their choice) and a shield. Blocking enemies’ attacks with the shield will result in a short stun that will help the main character to kill the enemy faster. Additionally, the fighting animations will be much more different than those in Stardew Valley.

All in all, it is almost certain that the Haunted Chocolatier will become just as popular and well-liked as Stardew Valley. The only thing left for fans to do is to wait for an announcement regarding the game’s release date.
